The crowning glory
Although the study is already ten years old, the subject matter of the book ‘The crowning glory’ is still relevant in times when trees are cut down en masse to be burned. The economic benefits of urban trees were discussed in detail for the first time. The well-known FEBO method (Financial and Economic Decision Support Methodology) shows that urban trees add value to real estate, retain water, capture CO2 and capture particulate matter. The study shows that this value only increases as the tree ages. So old trees are not only more beautiful, but also more economically valuable.
